The heavyweight of responsibility can be exhausting. You go to work every day, do whatever it is you need to do there, and then eventually come home. It happens to all of us at some point in time, but here how I put my life back together when it feels like I don’t even exist:
1. Breathe deeply, and take extra long showers (It’s not a coincidence that these things are one and the same.)
2. Eat what you want when you want, and take full advantage of it when you have the opportunity. Maybe eating ice cream from the carton isn’t your thing, but I promise you something else is out there that relax you just as much.
3. Sleep. It sounds stupidly simple, but sleep can be incredibly difficult for many people to attain on a regular basis because they don’t know how to manage their time or use relaxation techniques before going to bed. The thing is, sleeping can turn even the worst day around if enough time is given to it, so try not to neglect your nightly routine. In fact, I find it best if I turn all the lights off so I’m not tempted to get up and do something else. 4. Abandon perfectionism! Just because what you’re doing isn’t perfectly execute doesn’t mean you should stop doing it altogether. Perfection is only an ideal that we attempt to reach, and anything that falls short of that target can still be just as great as any other accomplishment – if not better – considering the history behind its creation and your intent for its future.
5. Get out of your house and interact with people (Obviously easier said than done for those who live relatively secluded lifestyles like me.)
6. Listen to your favorite song, even if it isn’t cool to do so in public. I’m not saying you should let go of your pride because that’s completely up to you, but there are times when all you need is a little motivation to get yourself through the day, and music tends to have an uplifting effect on people for this reason.
7. Call someone just because. Don’t wait for anyone else to motivate you into doing something nice for others simply because they deserve it too. The moment you stop being selfish enough to consider other people’s well-being is the moment our world hits rock bottom. If anything, the smallest acts of kindness can have great consequences in another person’s life explains Rizwan Ahmed CPA.
8. Write down what you want so it’s not a mystery anymore. Honestly, I don’t think you need a journal or anything fancy to do this. You can even use a sheet of loose-leaf paper if you’re willing to take the time out of your day to put pencil/pen to paper. The point is that it should be something that makes sense for what you intend to achieve, and once it’s written down in front of you then there’s no reason why you shouldn’t do it because it becomes tangible.
9. Exercise! Take your dog for a walk, go for a run in the park, jog through the streets – anything physical will make a world of difference when it comes to getting your mind in order. This isn’t a command but rather an offer for those who have been neglecting their health.
10. Stop being so hard on yourself! The only thing that ever comes from this is regret and a feeling as though you’ve failed to reach your own standards because sometimes there’s no such thing as perfection – especially in something as simple as tying your shoelaces – but rather a genuine effort that means more than anything else, even if it doesn’t appear to be true at first glance.
There are a million different ways of putting your life back together after it falls apart because nothing will ever go the way you want it to all the time, but once you realize that everything happens for a reason then all you need is the willingness to start over again from scratch. Allow yourself to grow with whatever it is you want to do because the only toxic elements in your life are the ones you keep thinking about instead of leaving behind by moving forward.

Think carefully about what you want and how you can achieve it one step at a time without trying too hard or placing any unrealistic expectations on your own shoulders.
